Fees are £80/an hour for self-funded clients. I am a recognised therapist for the Bupa Mental Health and Wellbeing Network. I am also registered with AXA PPP Health care. Please contact your private insurer.
Cancellation time of 24 hours is required, otherwise a full session fee applies. Payment by cash is payable on completion of each appointment.
We can discuss your requirements over the phone or via email. The first appointment is an assessment session where we will discuss your current concerns. I will ask questions to clarify your current situation and how you experience your difficulties. You may be asked for some brief history and where you think these issues may have stemmed from.
At the end of the assessment session, we will agree a plan for therapy and begin to think through tangible goals that will give us a clear focus. You will be asked to complete helpful measures that can assist our work together. Each week small exercises are agreed; this is to help you understand what we have discussed and how you can begin to implement changes in your life. CBT is an active therapy.
A course of CBT can range from 6-20 sessions, this will depend on your concerns and whether you would like to explore deeper issues. Your appointments will be 50 minutes long and held at the same time every week.
Your sessions are confidential. In order to maintain professional practice, it is a requirement that psychotherapists engage in regular supervision; however, the client’s identity is not revealed.
If a client states that they have plans to harm themselves or others, or if the client possess knowledge of harm or potential harm to a child under 18 years of age or if a therapist is instructed by the law courts to present information pertaining to a criminal act. The therapist will inform third parties to ensure all relevant support is being offered e.g. GP or emergency services. Please seek clarification if you have any queries.
